What do we have to do?

Build a website (or a section of a website). The idea of the competition is to use your website to show creativity and teamwork. For the previous competition, the theme or subject of the website entries was left pretty much open. This year, after consultation with the Oxfordshire Education ICT team, we are encouraging competitors to submit websites around a local theme.

Who can enter?

Teams of students in Oxfordshire in primary and secondary (but not university level) education.

What are the rules?

The 2005 rules are at http://www.oxon.bcs.org/webcomp/Competition/Rules.htm and the marking scheme is at http://www.oxon.bcs.org/webcomp/Competition/Marking.htm

How do we enter?

As before, this will be a two-stage process.

  • Teams must be sponsored by a member of staff
  • From an early stage, you will be able to “register interest” using an online form.
  • We will then keep you uptodate with details about the competition as the planning progresses, and we will send you emails when key dates are approaching.
  • You then need to submit your entry by the closing date. There will be an online form to do this. We may, exceptionally, accept entries by hardcopy (on CD).

Where can I find more information?

The official competition website is at http://www.oxon.bcs.org/webcomp There is also complete website dedicated to the previous competition.
